In 2017, the 2013 Barolo completed its mandatory period of maturation and refinement.
This happened both for the Barolo Cannubi Boschis and for the Barolo Le Vigne. But in view of
that deadline Luciano announced an important novelty, namely the desire to dedicate his
Cannubi Boschis to the young generation of the family. At the basis of this choice, which should not
be seen as a renunciation of the specific Geographical Mention, there were two factors: from one side the
total belonging of that vineyard to Luciano's personal history and from the other the deep bond
of Luciano with those two grandchildren, Alessia and Stefano, who for him represented the
continuity of his family with the world of Barolo.
Thus, from the 2013 vintage, the Barolo Cannubi Boschis changed its name and became "ALESTE". Luciano
explained it in detail at the moment when this change was happening: "I decided so
because only with this choice do I believe I pay full tribute to the richness and elegance of the
wine drawn from this vineyard which I consider 'unique'. My family is deeply linked to the
historic hill of Cannubi and, in particular, to this Cannubi Boschis vineyard, the first I
purchased. In this territory and in this vineyard we grew up and we are proud to be part of it.
It is for us a great privilege to be able to cultivate this vineyard that every day we see with
our own eyes directly from the company. The respect for this vineyard we want to make felt
and expressed in the wine. Thus was born a Barolo by now recognized, towards which I have
dedicated, harvest after harvest, great attention. None of this will change and it is
for this that I made a courageous and sensitive choice for the future: I dedicate my 'wine of the
heart' to my grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. From now on, the wine will bear their names enclosed
in its denomination. ALESTE is indeed the union of the initial parts of their first names".
The rest is recent history, passed through other moments of daily activity or facts
that are worth remembering, like the celebration of the forty years of the company, celebrated in 2018
or the story of another project, born almost by chance but equally fascinating, which
gave life to the Barolo Vite Talin which you can read in a specific chapter.
The 2020s had begun for little more than two turns of the calendar when
Luciano, on January 5, 2023, decided that his journey on these wine hills could be
considered concluded. He preferred to go elsewhere, beyond the sky, beyond those clouds that give,
depending on the seasons, the sun or the rain or the snow. He knew that beyond those clouds
other hills, other vineyards, other projects and other bets awaited him.
His memory and his way of being remained here to emphasize to us every day everything that
in life Luciano was able to realize and to remember that among these rows, in these cellars, among
these houses between 1946 and 2023 he walked and discovered since he was a child that the Nebbiolo
vine was the plant he would always cultivate and Barolo the wine he would always
love.
The 2000 vintage continued regularly and, at the end of the work in the vineyard, a "top-notch" harvest brought precious grapes to the cellar, capable of generating wines of great satisfaction.

The passage from 2002 to 2003 brought a radical change in the climate situation. In fact, many researchers had been talking about "climate change" since the previous decade, but the majority of producers only noticed it that year.
In 2004, with the presence in the company of larger spaces, including some air-conditioned warehouses and, therefore, suitable for the preservation of bottles of great vintages intended to be consumed in the following years
Meanwhile, in the last part of 2004, the process of sector organization and qualification of the Roero wine world was concluded.
As the years passed, the Piedmontese wine world also continued to organize itself.
Between 2011 and 2014, the Luciano Sandrone Farm faced another important project to expand the cellar structure with the creation of the south-facing wing of the company building
