“The mountains are my survival lung. I think going to the mountains is a Sandrone gene. I started mountaineering and I also share this passion with my great-uncle Luca who in turn shared it with his brother when they were young. He even wanted to find me an alpine guide to go on Monviso. In fact I went there, but after he had already flown to heaven. It breaks my heart at the thought of not having been able to tell him but I had the feeling that he was there congratulating me. Even now I feel as if he accompanies me on all the peaks I face”.

Is there a place in the mountains where you would have liked to take your grandfather?

“I am in love with the Maira Valley, to the point that in the future I would like to go and live there. I would like to have a small meira, try to play with what the mountain offers you, know how to appreciate the little things and manage with little, things that my grandfather always taught me. The mountain meets my needs: I love manual skills, I like living outdoors, I also like a bit of solitude. I don't always enjoy being among people, because many people appear too superficial, hold exaggerated attitudes and above all express judgments on topics they don't know”.

A bit of the shy and silent character of grandfather Luciano has passed into this girl with a frank smile, strong character and decided personality, who has her whole life ahead of her and who without a doubt will know how to build something important.
